Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, I relocated to Southern California in 2005 before eventually settling in Northern California with my wife, Lisa, and our dog, Solana.

My professional life has always extended beyond design. I spent a decade on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Architectural Foundation, including five years as President, and now serve as President Emeritus. More recently, I helped establish the Sacramento Architecture + Design Foundation as its founding President, with a shared ambition to champion good design and strengthen Sacramento’s creative community.

Along the way, I’ve been recognized in The Daily Transcript’s 40 Under 40, received a California State Assembly Certificate of Recognition, and won the Design Professional category of Architectural Record’s Annual Napkin Sketch Contest — a nice surprise and a decent excuse to keep doodling on napkins.

Today, alongside my work at DBRDS, I teach Interior Design and Architecture at California State University, Sacramento, sharing my love of design, sketchbooks and curiosity with the next generation of designers.

Whether I’m designing, teaching, collaborating or sketching, I’m drawn to the people, ideas and creative mischief that make things happen. More often than not, you’ll find me with a sketchbook nearby.
